1. Information We Collect
When you register, we collect your email address and a hashed version of your password. We do not store your password in plain text. When you use the service, we collect your search queries and alert keywords to personalise your experience. If you upgrade to a paid plan, your payment is processed by PayHere. We do not receive or store your card details.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your email to send alerts and digests you have explicitly subscribed to, authenticate your account, and communicate about your subscription. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Data Storage
Your data is stored on servers hosted by Railway.app (or your configured host) in a PostgreSQL database. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including hashed passwords, HTTPS-only communication, and restricted database access.
4. Cookies
We use a JWT token stored in your browser's localStorage to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party tracking cookies or advertising cookies.
5. Email Communications
You will only receive emails from us if you have registered an account or explicitly set up a keyword alert or digest subscription. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also delete all your alerts at any time from the Alerts page.
6. Third-Party Services
We use Resend (resend.com) to deliver emails. Your email address is shared with Resend solely for the purpose of delivering emails you have requested. We use PayHere (payhere.lk) to process payments. PayHere's privacy policy applies to payment data.
7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days. Article data from public news sources is retained indefinitely for historical search.
8. Your Rights
You may request a copy of all personal data we hold about you. You may request deletion of your account and associated data. You may update your email address by contacting us. To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@pulseaggregator.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
